Wendy Shay urges DJs and fans: “Let’s give female musicians the spotlight they deserve”

Ghanaian music sensation Wendy Shay has made a powerful call to action for DJs and music lovers alike to amplify the voices of female artists in the industry.

Speaking passionately, Wendy Shay emphasized the vital role DJs play in shaping the music landscape and urged them to give more airplay and support to talented women in music.

“To my DJs, we are all here because of you. You guys are very important in the music industry,” Wendy Shay said, acknowledging the influence DJs have in breaking new talent and sustaining artists’ careers. “This industry is male-dominated, so I urge you to support the females in the music industry, people like Sista Afia, Gyakie, Efya Nokturnal, Adina. All these are talented people, so please play their songs, give them the airplay, support them like you do with the male artists.”
