At the launch of the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards 2025, award winning music group Keche took a moment to honor DJs for their essential contribution to the music industry.
Speaking passionately, Keche explained why supporting DJs is an unmissable event for them, “We’re nothing without the DJs. Without them, we won’t be here. They’ve played a very strong role in our lives. Anytime they call, we have to be here, and we’re happy to show them we love them so much.”
Keche highlighted the transformation of the DJ industry in Ghana, recalling earlier days when DJs did not get the recognition they deserved. “I saw the beginning of this whole thing. There was a time Ghanaians were not paying much attention. But DJs are very important to us, the artists. I’ve seen the growth, and now it’s a big thing. Just look, DJs from Takoradi, Kumasi, everyone is here for the launch. That tells you this initiative is very important.”
The group emphasized their ongoing commitment to uplifting DJs, stressing that artists and DJs work hand in hand to take music further. “We, the artists, are here to support the DJs. When this time comes, we entertain them, to let them know we appreciate them.”
Keche also spoke warmly about their personal connection with DJs, “Every DJ is my best DJ. They all play a vital role in making sure our songs reach where we want them to go.”
This year’s Guinness Ghana DJ Awards launch saw a gathering of top DJs from across Ghana, and Keche expressed high hopes for the event, “I’m looking forward to beautiful scenes, beautiful conversations, and seeing all the best DJs grab some nominations. That’s why we are here to show our support.”
Keche’s heartfelt words at the event underline the vital relationship between artists and DJs, and the deep appreciation Ghana’s top acts have for the hard work DJs put into bringing music alive.
