The 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, powered by Smirnoff, will officially open for entries on September 8.
DJs from across Ghana and beyond are invited to submit their entries and showcase their talent at Africa’s largest celebration of disc jockey excellence.
Now in its 13th edition, the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards celebrates DJs who bring creativity, passion, and skill to the music industry. This year’s theme, “Shake the Floor,” highlights the event’s commitment to recognising innovation and the powerful role DJs play in energising crowds and shaping music culture.
The Guinness Ghana DJ Awards process starts with submissions from DJs, music artists, industry experts and fans. These entries are then reviewed by the jury to determine their eligibility and appropriate category placement.
The nomination jury, made up of experts skilled in the creative and technical areas of recording, production, and DJing, will be involved in two key stages.
First, they help select the four or six finalists in each category during the nomination process. Then, they take part in the final voting alongside the Voting Academy and the general public to choose the winners of the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards. The results are verified by a professional auditing firm.
Entry submissions will be open for a limited period, offering both emerging talents and established DJs the opportunity to compete for top honors and recognition. The awards go beyond technical skill, also acknowledging the cultural influence DJs have on Ghana’s vibrant music scene.

Yes! You can nominate as many people as you wish, including yourself, for any number of categories.
Are nominations binding (i.e., will you or the candidate you nominate definitely be shortlisted in the final nomination list)?
No, they are not. Once the public nomination period concludes, the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards jury will shortlist entries based on merit and data.
