Founder of the Ghana DJ Awards and Host of the nation’s most interactive Drive Time Show (Cruise Control) on Hitz FM, Merqury Quaye has been nominated for this year’s Young Entrepreneurs Awards.
This nomination comes in recognition of Merqury’s contribution to the Entertainment Industry in Ghana notably through his organisation, Merqury Republic.
Merqury Republic is the organiser of the first ever annual Ghana DJ Awards established to celebrate Ghanaian Disc Jockeys for their tireless efforts in keeping the nation entertained.
The Multimedia Group presenter cum MC was nominated alongside personalities such as Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), Kwame Nsiah Apau (Okyeame Kwame) John Mensah Foli (Jay Foli) Joe Mettle,Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey (Santana).
The six personalities will battle it out on Saturday October 18th in Accra for the chance to be crowned Best Male Celebrity Entrepreneur.
Young Entrepreneur Awards is an annual scheme that has been instituted by the Youth Business Network Foundation (YBN) to identify and recognize young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial individuals who defy the harsh entrepreneurial challenges facing the youth to establish on their own.
In all, 15 categories have been created and winners will be selected through 30% public voting.
Eyes will be on the host of the first ever music video chart show in Ghana, Soundcity Top 10 on GTV in 2007 who has metamorphosed into one of Ghana’s finest entrepreneurs.
Merqury Quaye will be remembered for leading a charge which caused a revolution that demanded that Disc Jockeys in Ghana be properly remunerated and respected.
