Ghanaian DJs set to finally launch a union

Disc Jockeys in Ghana have finally agreed to have a proactive and vibrant united front in order to promote and better regulate the DJing profession in Ghana.

The need for unions in every profession can not be underemphasized as they help set the standards for skill levels, wages, working conditions, and quality of life for the players in that sector, both at the national and local levels.

Speaking on Peace FM’s entertainment review show; chairman of the Ghana DJ Awards board, Rev. Azigiza Jnr. stated that, a workshop for DJs will be held on November 20, during which an Association for DJs will be instituted.

He further added, “We strongly believe that the time has come for all DJs to come together under one umbrella to collectively push the profession and get it recognized. We need to form this Association so that DJs will gain the needed respect”.

The workshop through which the union will be formed is part of activities in the build-up to this year’s Ghana DJ Awards which is scheduled to take place on 21st November 2020.
