It was a horror show at the fourth annual Route 91 Country Music Festival in Las Vegas when a gunman opened fire on a crowd of attendees at the concert. Before the suspect was shot dead by police, he had killed at least fifty nine people and left five hundred injured.
The unnamed suspect was said to be in a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino- a vantage position to see the concert going on downstairs.
Police say the death toll could be higher and had already claimed the life of two officers. They’re also on the lookout for a woman believed to be complicit in the shooting.
A concert goer told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the shooting started just as the last performer Jason Aldean took to stage. ‘It was a horror show. People were standing around, then they hit the floor.’ She survived by hiding in the sewer till the shooting stopped.
