Serato has launched the public beta for Serato DJ Pro 4.0 and Serato DJ Lite 4.0, featuring big improvements to how DJs manage and organize their music libraries.
These updates introduce new tools and a fresh look for handling crates and tracks.
Both versions now let users add ‘favorite’ tags to quickly access their most used crates. A new color-coding system helps DJs easily spot and organize crates by different colors.
The library also shows more key details at a glance, such as the total length, size, and number of tracks in each crate. Tracks can now be rated using fun emoji-based ratings, like stars, watermelons, or bombs, making it easier to score and sort songs.
Right-click options in the library have been added, allowing faster editing and managing of track info directly in the crates.

A new filter system helps DJs quickly find their tracks, and Serato DJ Pro 4.0 adds advanced search tools for digging deep into music collections based on any criteria.
Track handling has improved too, music analysis happens automatically when adding songs, and DJs can analyze tracks while connected to their hardware.
Both personal music files and streaming tracks can now be combined into the same crates, making library management smoother than before.

These powerful updates make Serato DJ 4.0 one of the most important releases for the software, making track organization easier and more enjoyable for DJs.
The public beta is available now for all existing Serato users. To join, visit Serato’s official forum and sign up.
