Scheduled for November 29, 2025, at the Palms Convention Center in Accra, this year’s ceremony marks the 13th edition of an event that is the cornerstone of Ghana’s vibrant music scene.
Powered by Smirnoff and proudly sponsored by Guinness Ghana, the awards continue to celebrate the artistry and influence of DJs who shape the soundscape not only across Ghana but around the globe.
The theme for 2025, ‘Shake the Floor,’ perfectly summarize the spirit of the event, a dynamic celebration of music’s power to unite people, transcend boundaries, and create unforgettable experiences. It also shines a spotlight on the vital role DJs play in the evolution of music, culture, and the arts throughout Africa.
Since its inception, the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, organized by Merqury Republic, has grown into an international platform showcasing the talents of DJs from Ghana and beyond. Over the past 12 years, the event has welcomed artists from countries including the USA, Denmark, Brazil, the UK, South Africa, and France, reinforcing Ghana’s position as a global hub for DJ culture.
The 2025 edition promises to raise the bar even higher. More than half a dozen performances have already been confirmed, with many artists set to be unveiled at the official launch on July 12. Last year’s ceremony featured standout performances from Ghana’s finest DJs such as DJ Lord OTB, DJ Sonatty, DJ Shiwaawa, and DJ Ikon, alongside memorable appearances by Edem, Merqury Quaye, Guru, Andy Dosty, DJ Nyce, and Keche.
One of the most anticipated additions this year is the introduction of a **sound clash** — a reggae DJ battle between two of Ghana’s most respected sound clash crews. This segment pays homage to Jamaican music culture and is expected to electrify the crowd at the Palms Convention Center, adding a fresh and thrilling dimension to the awards night.
As the countdown continues, a series of signature pre-event activities are set to engage fans nationwide. These include the highly anticipated nationwide tour, Pub Fest, Ghana DJ Clinic, Ladies Concert, and Nominees Jam.
