DJ Slim is one of Ghana’s finest DJs and this year he celebrates 15 years as a DJ.
He has been nominated and he has won several awards including
Hiplife DJ of the Year, Best Male Radio DJ and Best DJ in Ashanti Region all at the 2018 Ghana DJ Awards.
Starting off his radio career on campus radio, playing grave yard shifts, he’s gradually worked his way to the top and has worked with several international brands.
The host of the Pure Drive, sat with James and Katah on the James and Katah Show on Pure FM and revealed when he started radio.
“I was 18 years old when I started doing radio”, he said.
Mentioning certain struggles and sacrifices he had to face in the early days of his career, he revealed that he worked for 6 years and wasn’t paid.
He said he didn’t stop nor lose focus because he had passion for the job and always saw the bigger picture by drawing inspiration from media stalwarts like legendary Kwame Adinkra, Kojo Marfo, Big Shark, Andy Dosty.
He recalls recording their radio shows and playing them back later and wishing to be like them but he never dreamt he would be rubbing shoulders with these legends as he does today.
The 2019 DJ Slim Invasion is the 3rd edition of his annual show, with massive support from various musicians and brands.
This Year’s edition of the event shall take a different turn and shall have series of activities packed for a whole weekend.
