I’ve played in the biggest night club in West Africa – DJ Ashmen

DJ Ashmen

DJ Ashmen has revealed that his love for the career started as a hobby with the help of his cousin and some radio presenters he used to listen on radio back in the days.

On the issue of whether or not he had the unlikely support of his parents in venturing into what some ignorant people would term as a ‘not-too-prestigious’ career, he opined, “My mum and dad are music lovers and the likes of Fiifi Pratt, Azigiza, KOD, Bibi Menson, among others inspired me.

My parents were in full support because I combined it with schooling so they were cool. After schooling I took it to a different level by playing at clubs, lounges and then radio”.

The 2019 ‘Best Afrobeat/Hiplife DJ’ nominee and ‘Best Mobile DJ’ nominee said he has performed at the biggest night club in West Africa situated at Kwahu- Rockcity.

Commenting on his latest nomination in the upcoming 2019 Ghana DJ Awards, he retorted, “…May the night of the awards be good for all DJs in Ghana and give us a good image across the globe”.

He finally adviced the myriads of youths that look up to him to believe in themselves and build an image for themselves for others to follow.
