Ghana grieves as DJ Advicer passes on

Winner of the Best Music Promoter and the Best Afrobeat/HipLife of the Year at the Ghana DJ Awards 2019 edition, Isaac De-Graft Danquah, popularly known as DJ Advicer has passed on.

In a report cited by ghanadjawards.org, the veteran Disc Jockey and Radio Presenter died after a short illness on Wednesday, March 3 2021. DJ Advicer is reported to have passed away at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

The news of his demise was corroborated in a press release signed by Management of the Global Media Alliance (Happy FM, GMA, YFM & eTV); “The management of Global Media Alliance Group (GMA, Happy FM, YFM & eTV Ghana) regret to announce the passing of Isaac De-Graft Danquah, popularly known as DJ Advicer, on Wednesday 3 March 2021,” the statement reads.

“Happy FM’s supreme selector made it his sole purpose to put the spotlight on the relatively unknown artists in Ghana, a personal mandate that he carried out with a lot of passion. May his soul rest in peace.”

The  Board of the Ghana DJ Awards has shared a message of solidarity with friends, family and supporters of the astute DJ while emphasizing the key role he played in the promotion of Ghanaian music mainly through his platform as host of the Happy FM’s Ayekoo After Drive weekday show.

DJ Advicer is highly remembered for his outstanding record in 2019 when he won Record Promoter of the Year award for the fourth consecutive time at the Ghana DJ Awards ceremony held at Accra International Conference Centre.
